Move over books! I need to make some room for some real reading material... COMICS!

haha, so recently I've become obsessed with the magicians in comics. I don't know if its from re-reading all my secret six issues with Black Alice, re-reading my Zatanna comics or reading fanfictions with a lot of Madame Xanadu in them, but I do know that its all I can think about. And then I sadly realized that my comic book collection was seriously lacking in the magic department. But I fixed that :] I went to the comic shop and got my hands on all the Madame Xanadu, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Dr. Fate, Spectre, and many more magically gifted superheroes I could find. I think I'm going to need more room to put my collection.

So far, I would say my favorite is Phantom Stranger. I have no idea why but he just seems so awesome to me ;D and my second favorite would have to be Madame Xanadu, although I notice that they don't really get along...

Dr. Fate was actually my first comics book. Well, it was a Dr. Fate mini-series with Hector Hall. And I was actually looking for Zatanna but couldn't find any. It was a small store.

Oh, and never missing a good opportunity I picked up some Mister Miracles I didn't have yet, I just need 5 more issues and I have them all! :D Gotta catch 'em all!!!

Awkward Corner

I've noticed that there are a lot of...well 'awkward' panels in comic books. My friends mostly point them out to me because they don't bother with reading the words and only look at the pictures. And they have perverted minds... but anyways, I've decided to create a corner, and "Awkward Corner" where I will show the panels that, uh, caught my eye.

In today's Awkward Corner we have...

Hawkgirl and Zatanna!

So, um, yeah. I was reading this on a crowded airplane. Now just imagine how many people I annoyed when I started laughing out hysterically. Yeah, a lot.

And the second panel is a total FAIL! (1) The grammar there is all wrong. Not that I'm a Grammar Nazi or anything, it just kinda bugged me. (2) 'super-scientific devices' wow, that just makes you sound 'super' smart :P Usually its their "Thanagarian technology" but no, now its their "super-scientific devices". What and upgrade! ;P

Wow, its been a LONG time since I updated this thing. I guess its because I've been busy with the Easter season. and with my comics ;D Ive been putting all my free time into making a box to put all my comics in alphabetically and then I got MONEY! so I went out and bought like 20 more comics! and my nephew knows how much I LOVE the Question so for Easter he bought my this cool action figure! its bigger that the rest of my collection (except for a Black Canary doll and a Big Barda action figure (duh!) I have) but I love it anyways!!! I've been having a pretty good time =D I was considering opening my action figures cuz I've seen blogs were people act out scenes with them or just have fun but i kinda wanna keep mine in the cases to keep them nice =/ hmmm

anyways, I finally found Superman/Batman #24 and this has to be my favorite part BY FAR!!!!

Crazy Alien Speech Patterns!

I noticed that a majority of the time the people from Apokolips like to speak in third person. Usually this kinda annoys me, like when my friend does it at school, but im so use to it now that i find it funny when my friend does it... I'm just wondering why Jack Kirby and others did this =/

so,  I decided to be Fire for Halloween! I know its early but if I want a good costume I have to start working on it early, and then there is also the small manner of getting in shape. Fire has like those abs that are there but they don't stand out and you dont really notice them, and thats what I'm aiming for. So, where I was going with this was that I  started hitting the gym for like two hours every other day so that I could get those kind of abs... and let me tell you I an definitely feeling the pain... -___- but its worth it cuz so far my Fire costume looks BEAST!!! ;D

I WANNA MAKE A MOVIE!!!

So, like my DREAM is to direct a live action Justice League movie! YES, you heard right, LIVE ACTION!!! and I already have a pretty good cast picked out =D

Dramatics...

So, I got an issue of Birds of Prey that looked like it was good, Birds of Prey #112... and I open it. The first thing I see is dead Big Barda in a coffin and the Birds of Prey and Mister Miracle at her funeral... I kinda freaked out and basically had a mental breakdown... almost. I quickly shut the comic and kinda just let it sink in... and then I started crying... Dx it was so SAD! Looking back at it I admit that I probably overreacted... but thats just who I am. It turned out to be a pretty good comic and I loved the very last page! =D it was a photo of Zinda (aka Lady Blackhawk) and Barda (aka...well... Big Barda =/ hmm...) hanging out <3

WOO HOO!!! :D

so, I've been rather sad lately because of Death of the New Gods and how Big Barda and Mister Miracle die... :'( I know, sad right... but now I'm SOOOOOO happy cuz guess what?!?!?! they get resurrected along with the other new gods at the end of Final Crisis!!!! :D so now I'm happy!

Behold! The Mega-rod!!!

I have this friend that will randomly ask you weird stuff like, "What would you do if I just kicked you in the face?... right now!" and being the pacifist I am I usually respond, "I don't know... say ow." but (I don't if I've been too many Birds of Prey or if I'm starting to take after Big Barda) today I responded "I'd bludgeon you to death with my MEGA-ROD!!!" being the comic book nerd I am... so then my friends asked my what a Mega-rod was and after I explained they were all laughing... okay even my first impression of it was inappropriate but STILL! I need to start hanging out with people that have cleaner minds... -_-

oh, and for those of you who don't know what a Mega-rod is, its a rod shaped weapon that has many functions (*sarcastic* hardy-har-har -_-) such as transporting, flight, shooting a very destructive beam, and its good for just hitting stuff...

Action Comics... o.O

So, today my friends were making fun of my Mister Miracle comics again and making inappropriate jokes so I told them about Action Comics 592-593 were Superman and Big Barda make a porno... o.O I know right, there are some things in this world that you can't UNSEE!!! so anyways they have this think about making jokes about me and my "erotic" comic books... WHICH IS TOTALLY UNTRUE!!! although a lot of comics tend to have sexual references or innuendos its not any worse than the tv shows (Justice League Unlimited was JUST as bad!!!) there not meant to be inappropriate and most of the time if they are its because the reader has taken it out of context or and a mind so far deep in the gutter that not even a boom-tube could get them out! and remember, all these comics go through censors before being released to the public!

Today, I was reading my Mister Miracle #4 with the first appearance of Big Barda, and my friend started reading it over my shoulder and making "that's what she said" joke of like every page. I will never be able to read that comic the same way again...

Ugh, why so many ages?

I was reading Justice the other day, and I must say Alex Ross is AMAZING!!!!, but I love the parts with Hawkgirl and Hawkman, they were so cute and then I read some old Justice League of America and it had a scene with Hawkgirl (Kendra) and Red Arrow and I didn't really like it... at all -_- so now I'm like obsessed with Hawkgirl and Hawkman (see! I told you it would happen...) and there isn't really any Justice League Unlimited episodes I can watch because for some reason in that series they decided to make her fall in love with Green Lantern (John Stewart) *shutters* Im sorry to all you GL/HG fans out there but SHE BELONGS WITH KATAR (or Carter, how ever you chose to spell it)!!!!! and thats final! and unfortunately almost all the fanfiction is about them to so I guess my only option is to hunt down some good comics! so anyways, now that I've collected 95% of the Mister Miracle series, I think I'm going to start hunting down any issues of Hawkman I can find, or Hawkworld cuz that series looks good too =P So the whole point of this post was to say that I MUCH prefer Golden Age Hawkgirl to Kendra (even though she is just a reincarnation of the original Hawkgirl, but thinking about all that just makes my brain hurt so...) ya, and by the way, why are there so many ages? what happens when they make more? they already used Golden, Silver, and Bronze... whats next... plastic? (I bet Plastic Man would like that ;P)

Why is everyone the same?!?!

Has anyone else noticed that almost all the DC superheroes have black hair and blue eyes. I don't know about you but I've never met someone who naturally has black hair and blue eyes, and yet a majority of DC heroes do...

I was working on my Female Furies video that I'm making for my Youtube account and I remembered that I forgot to tell my blog about my Youtube channel! Its not much, I only have two videos but they're about the Justice League so I thought that I should put it on here. Alright, I now have like a million times more respect for the inkers and colorers for comic books! I usually just do a sketch and leave it at that but on this Big Barda sketch I'm doing I decided to ink it and add color and its HELL! and this is just a sketch! when I start to ink the comic book I'm making its going to be even WORSE! ugh! -_- the things I put up with for my art... and comics. Oh well, I'm almost finished with the Big Barda sketch but I think I'm gonna add Mister Miracle in there somewhere (I'm like obsessed with those two right now, but I bet in two week I'll be obsessed with someone else. Last month it was Black Canary...) When my sketch is finished I'll post it here maybe.

Whoa whoa whoa its MAGIC!!!

Just got back from the movies and I decided to wind down the day with some Zatanna! She is one of my favorites =P one thing that I always think about though is... Why does she use fake magic at her shows when everybody knows she can do real magic? I mean everyone should know, she's part of the Justice League and she doesn't wear a mask, change her name, or wear a different costume (well she did once, but that one looked really weird o.O) ... I think it should be pretty obvious -_- I would just do real magic and like charge more for tickets, I mean its like REAL MAGIC! anyways, that just always bugs me when I'm reading her comics. Oh, and does anyone else think she would look good with Dr. Fate, I KNOW I KNOW, he's married, but I mean seriously! I think they would be so cute together... oh well, I guess it shall never be D'=

Mister Miracle!!!

So, I'm just sitting around reading some old Mister Miracle! He and Big Barda are just such a cute <3 I love them!!! anyways, I was thinking of the third Mister Miracle series. I haven't read it yet, but I REALLY want to! Apparently in issue 4 and 5 Scott and Barda break up for a little while, and I was thinking about how to someone who doesn't read comics everyday like I do then to two issues isn't that bad because its just a short time, but if you know about comics and how they come out monthly and you have to wait about 30 days to get the next issue then two issues is quite a long time! I mean its hell for me just to wait for the next Zatanna issue to come out. Thats why I like to read the older series, if I own all the issues then there's no wait!!! =D

Hey, so I an a HUGE DC fan. I'm constantly thinking about my heroes ;D and well I always talk to my friends and family about them, but they just don't get it :( they never get what I'm talking about, so I decided to go to the internet! because it has never failed me before! ...okay, maybe thats a bit of an untruth (oh ya, if you're gonna read my blog, get use to the weird made up words and grammar, my english teachers call me 'creative' thats kinda their way of saying 'SHE CANT SPEAK ENGLISH AT ALL!!!' my friends always make fun of me for it =P) it has failed me before =[ but that is beside the point... what is the point actually? hmmm... oh ya! I made this blog so that I can express my thoughts about comics to someone who gets what I'm saying, cuz I'm lonely...
